Analysis: Harrisburg pays $5.66 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Harrisburg Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85 percent of the $491,653 the Harrisburg Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.66 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harrisburg contributed $417,886 to the fund, which saw a $10,088 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $73,767, or 15 percent, in 2018.
