The Board of Education of Wabash Community Unit School District #348 met in Regular Session in the Cafetorium of Mt. Carmel Grade School.
President Schuler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Secretary Janice Alka called the roll. In addition to the secretary, those present were Tim Schuler, Kyle Peach, Ryan Peter, Jared Alka, and Theresa Hocking. Neil Earnest was absent.
Also present were Superintendent Dr. Chuck Bleyer, Jake Newkirk –MCHS Principal, Michael Brewer – Curriculum and Grant Coordinator, Tyler Buss – MCHS Asst. Principal, Brianne Foster –MCGS Principal, Sheila Odom – MCES Principal, Kevin Smith – Technology Director, Steve Holt –COO MCJHS/MCHS, Kevin Madden –WSJD, Chandler Madden – WSJD, Evan Merrill – Mt. Carmel Register, Megan Patberg-Parent, Selby Patberg-Student, Nichole Loudermilk –Parent, Jennifer Beesley – Parent, Ralph & Paula Jackson –Parents, Jamie & Christy McCorkle –Parents, Kristi Perry –Teacher, Danielle Ewald –WCTA, Dawn Drone – WCEA, Penny Lofton –MCHS Kitchen, Tracee Bleyer-Video Recorder, and District Secretary Kim Zimmer.

School Reopening Plan
A motion to approve the following recommendation by Dr. Bleyer for reopening the school was made by Janice Alka and seconded by Peter:
1. August 13th half the students, Group A (Maroon) last names beginning with A-M, will report for a half-day.
2. August 14th the other half, Group B (Gold) last names beginning with N-Z, will report for half a day.
3. August 17th will be a remote learning planning day.
4. August 18th and 20th Group A will report for a full in-person learning day.
5. August 19th and 21st Group B will report for a full in-person learning day.
6. August 24 will be a full return to in-person learning.
A roll call vote was taken. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Neil Earnest was absent.
2020-2021 Revised School Calendar
A motion to approve the revised school calendar was made by Peach and seconded by Janice Alka. A roll call vote was taken. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Neil Earnest was absent.
Employment of Personnel
A motion to approve the following employment recommendations was made by Hocking and seconded by Jared Alka:

Andy Rodgers -MCHS Special Education teacher starting the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year
NON-CERTIFIED
Ronda Lawson --MCJHS RtI Reading Teacher starting the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year
Pam Reid -MCHS Individual Assistant starting the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year
Beth Sheldon-Hortin -MCGS Indiv Asst starting the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year

All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Neil Earnest was absent.
Jake Newkirk announced that graduation would be on August 1, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
Graduation will be held at Riverview Stadium. Social Distancing protocols will be followed.
