Little Wabash Fire Protection District responded to 42 calls in 2018 - 35.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Little Wabash included 32 fires - five structure fires, three vehicle fires and 24 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $928,600 in fire loss - or about $29,019 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls.

The Little Wabash Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $72,553 in 2018.
