Carrier Mills Fire District responded to 35 calls in 2018 - 30 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Carrier Mills included 30 fires - 12 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 13 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $572,250 in fire loss - or about $19,075 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.
