State Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) will be among the Republican lawmakers appearing in Anna for a talk with constituents as part of the group’s ongoing Regional Listening Tour.
Fowler is slated to be joined at the Oct. 7 gathering at Anna-Jonesboro Community High by Sens. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) and Jason Plummer (R-Edwardsville).
The trio is heralding the 6 p.m. gathering as an opportunity for residents across the area to be heard on the issues most pertinent to them and their communities.
"Mark your calendars,” Bryant posted on Facebook. “Together, Senator Fowler, Senator Plummer and I represent over two dozen of Southern Illinois’ counties. We have such unique, diverse communities and represent residents who have different needs and perspectives. They all deserve to have a voice in their state government.”
Bryant said the trio committing their time and energy to stage such a gathering was an easy decision.
“I wanted to host this event so that the collective voices of Southern Illinois could be heard by their lawmakers and to help us as legislators better represent the interest of Southern Illinois in the Senate," she added.
Serving as the minority spokesperson on both the Senate Commerce and Higher Education committees, Fowler has served the 59th District since 2017.
