Carmi Chamber of Commerce’s announces the 2021 It’s a White County Christmas Lighted Christmas Parade and Contests

7

Carmi Illinois Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce is once again planning its annual Lighted Christmas parade to welcome Santa to White County.  The parade is planned to begin at 5:30 pm on November 27, 2021.

Instead of having a specific theme for this year’s It’s a White County Christmas, we have decided to let participants get creative with how they show their holiday spirit!  Just make sure it lights the way for Santa, as he will officially be welcomed to Carmi at the end of the parade.  With that being said, the Chamber would ask that Santa not be part of any entry.

Floats and walking units of all sizes are welcome to join in the fun!  Entries do not have to be elaborate.  Decorated golf carts/razors (street legal and registered with the city of Carmi), church choirs walking through caroling, bands- any of these would be a great addition to this year’s parade.

Final details, line up, and parade route information will be e-mailed to everyone returning an entry form and publicized through the local media.

Parade Entry forms should be turned in to the Carmi Chamber of Commerce no later than November 22, 2021.

Additionally, the Carmi Chamber of Commerce would like to announce the return of their annual Christmas contests that are happening as well.  The Christmas Decorated Storefront Contest and the Merry & Bright Christmas Light Home Decorating Contest are accepting entry forms until November 19, 2021.

Also, a reminder to anyone that is hosting a public Christmas event to please forward the Carmi Chamber any events that you would like publicized for It’s a White County Christmas to chamber@cityofcarmi.com or by calling (618)382-7606.
