Mrs. Harrelson presented the Superintendent’s Report; Digital grant is being used to purchase 8 Smart Tech boards for classrooms. New Hope has applied for the property tax relief grant but is not expected to receive it. The roofing engineer suggests we stay with the flat roof. The technology and material used is better and comes with a 35 year warranty. A copy of the FOIA request received this month was included in the board packets. Changes to the Healthcare Right of Conscience Act are minimal. The changes include allowing districts to fire employees wanting to use exemptions for the vaccine, paid COVID leave is extended to only those who are vaccinated or testing weekly. New Hope school lunches are back together as normal. This change will open the risk of quarantine but with the weather getting colder, the change needed to be made. The masquerade was a success. The band chili supper profited $622 with the PTO bringing in $1,300 on the basket raffle. This year’s holiday dinner will be at the pumpkin patch and catered by Big Boy Catering on December 1st. The Christmas program is on December 10th at 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church. Kindergarten through second will perform a musical and the band will play as well.
