Report: Wayne City School District spent $9,999 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Wayne City Community Unit School District 100 was up 10.8 percent from five years ago, according to the SE Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Wayne County school district spent $9,022 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,999 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 515 to 533 students over the same period.

Wayne City's spending in 2019-20 was 31 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
