Report: Harrisburg School District spent $11,085 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Harrisburg Community Unit School District 3 was up 40.1 percent from five years ago, according to the SE Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saline County school district spent $7,910 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,085 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,054 to 1,861 students over the same period.

Harrisburg's spending in 2019-20 was 23.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
