Village of Smithton Committee as a Whole met March 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Rogers, Elbe, Henning, Mourey, and Hopkins were in attendance. Also in attendance were Engineer Scott Saeger and Mr. Tony Shank with the Gonzalez Company.

COMPREHENSIVE TRAIL PLAN

Mr. Shank was in attendance for the meeting to give an update on the Comprehensive Trail Plan study. Mr. Shank was given some recommendations regarding the trail from the Trustees. A meeting will be held at the Smithton Senior Center to present five different trail routes and trail improvements.

VIDEO GAMING FEES

A draft ordinance and options were discussed.

WILLOW OAK PROPERTY

The Board reviewed a revised agreement and were all in agreement with the revised version. Engineer Saeger will forward this revised agreement to the property owner.

PROPERTY APPRAISAL

The property owner would like to discuss some options with the Board. A meeting will be set up at some point.

WATER RATES

A draft ordinance with the new water rates was reviewed.

BUDGET

An updated version of the budget was distributed and discussed. The Board members will review and continue to discuss.

SAA/T-BALL FIELDS

It was determined that more discussion is needed with the SAA.

HY-DAC PROPERTY

There have been several complaintsregarding this property. We have asked our Village Engineer and Attorney to investigate this matter. The property is zoned Industrial, and the equipment being stored outside the building is permitted based on the zoning.

We are reviewing the eligible areas and will continue to review.

INSURANCE

We are continuing to review and compare provider pricing.

Trustee Rogers made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All were in favor. Motion was granted. Meeting adjourned at 10:05 pm.
