In a Jan. 10 Facebook post, Sen. Darren Bailey spoke against the recently passed abortion expansion legislation.

Sen. Darren Bailey addressed that Democrats have made it clear that life before birth doesn't matter. This legislation is appalling and pure evil.

In his Facebook post, Sen. Darren Bailey shared a video of a speech on the Senate floor. In part, he said: "Celebrating children I have absolutely no idea how we move into something like this after that I have no words for it other than pure evil. This is wrong." He also read Psalm 139, verses 13-16.

Bailey ran for Governor, hoping to unseat incumbent J.B. Pritzker.

According to the State Journal-Register, Bailey received 1,717,777, or 42.6% of the votes, compared to Pritzker's 2,197,760, or 54.6% of the vote. A third candidate, Scott Schluter, received 112,436 votes.

On Jan. 11, he posted a thank you to his official Senate Facebook page "To every single one of you in the 55th Senate District, thank you for allowing me to serve. It has been my great honor!"
