Village of Smithton Committee of a Whole met Jan. 24.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Rogers, Elbe, Hildreth, Mourey, and Hopkins were in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Neff, Supervisor Klein, Engineer Saeger, Clerk Parker and Finance Clerk Shelly Neff.
BANK PROPOSALS – The Board reviewed proposals from locals banks.
EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION PACKAGE – Information was provided to the Board from Department heads for the upcoming employee compensations for the next fiscal year.
GARBAGE FEES – The Board discussed the current rates being charged for garbage service.
WATER TOWER RESTORATION PLAN – Engineer Saeger presented a preliminary plan from a potential contractor.
BUDGET – The board received a comprehensive draft budget from all departments to review.
NORCOM 2000 – Mayor Smallwood will be setting up a meeting with Mr. Harry Norton.
Previously it was understood that Norcom 2000 had been sold to Wisper. It has been brought to our attention that this is not correct.
FULFORD ANNEXATION – It was reported that revisions to the proposed annexation agreement have been discussed with Mr. Fulford. The Board made a counter offer and it was rejected by Fulford.
2022 YEAR END RECAP – Public Works uniforms were still an outstanding item and now we have received all uniform apparel.
Trustee Rogers made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All were in favor. Motion was granted. Meeting adjourned at 8:55 pm.
