The 2024 Du Quoin State Fair has set a new attendance record, drawing over 204,000 visitors during its 11-day event from August 23 to September 2. This surpasses the previous record of 171,000 attendees set in 2022.
The fair's success is attributed to favorable weather conditions, new attractions, and improvements to the fairgrounds. Performances by artists such as Ashley McBryde, KANSAS, Chris Lane, and the Marshall Tucker Band contributed to the high turnout.
Combined with the Illinois State Fair attendance figures, both fairs attracted more than 977,000 visitors. Planning for next year's events is already underway. The Illinois State Fair will take place from August 7 to August 17, while the Du Quoin State Fair is scheduled for August 22 through September 1.
