Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Rogers, Elbe, Mourey, Hopkins, and Reyling were in attendance.
AMBULANCE SERVICE – Mayor Smallwood stated that he hasn’t heard anything from the Fire Department Board members. He also stated that a committee needs to be formed of all Village Board members for further discussions. There were questions and concerns raised regarding partnering with Millstadt. Trustee Becherer stated that he will reach out to Millstadt with some questions. Mayor Smallwood stated that his concerns are the cost of construction and what our portion of the income would be. We will talk with Attorney Bruckert about any contractual obligations. A meeting with the Fire Department and Millstadt representatives was suggested.
ST. JOHN’S UCC REQUEST – St. John’s UCC educational building is the Village’s storm shelter. They are reaching out asking the Village to assist St. John’s with the cost of replacement of the handicapped lift chair in the educational building. All board members agreed we should assist. Trustee Elbe mentioned having an agreement signed by both parties for us to use the building as a storm shelter if we agree to help with the financial part of the handicapped lift chair.
BRIA PROPERTY – Mayor Smallwood said he just needs the blessing of the board to enter into an agreement with Doug Payne to list the property to sell it. Mayor said it would be a 90-day listing. It was requested to have Doug Payne attend the next Committee as a Whole meeting.
CDs – Discussion was had regarding 2 CDs up for renewal. Trustee Becherer received the current rates. The rates and terms were discussed. There will be a motion to renew the CDs at the next regular board meeting.
