FOIA Request to Saline County Il Clerk & Elections Division Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
SE Illinois News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. The request is for records related to the upcoming spring elections in Illinois.
The information sought includes a list of all candidates running for office in the upcoming election. Specifically, we are requesting the first, middle, and last names of each candidate, the office they are running for, their jurisdiction of office, and their party affiliation.
In addition to this basic candidate information, we have also requested contact details for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
