A faculty member at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) has been involved in activities that have raised concerns. Kyle Miller, a research assistant professor of Population Science and Policy in the School of Medicine, has reportedly been recording himself engaging in explicit acts on campus and posting these videos on a gay porn website.

Miller's actions have included exposing himself in various public places on campus. In one instance, he recorded a video in a lecture hall with the caption: "Had a request on Bluesky to bate in a lecture hall. Short vid because I almost got caught." Another video showed him in a stairwell with the caption: "had a request for toys and a stairwell on campus. Fuck this was hot and idk if it was the risk or filming for you guys that had me turned on #exhibitionist #gay #hot #cum #gayporn."

Further videos include one where Miller is seen standing in a hallway and another at his office desk. Despite these activities, Miller is described as having significant academic credentials from SIUC.

Before these incidents came to light through Libs of TikTok, Miller led SIU Medicine’s ruralHarmony Program. This program aims to improve healthcare access for LGBTQ+ individuals across Illinois.

The university has removed references to Miller from its website following these revelations. His username on the gay porn site is "MidwestOtter," reflecting terms used within certain communities.

Miller has expressed hopes that his work will attract more researchers to population health fields. The community advisory board associated with his projects includes individuals such as Sara Bowen-Laisi and Rex Wyatt.

The situation at SIUC raises questions about professional conduct standards within academic institutions.
