State Representative Patrick Windhorst is encouraging residents of Metropolis, Illinois, to support local businesses during National Independent Retailer Month. He emphasized the importance of local retailers in the community's economy.

"Our local retailers are the backbone of our economy, providing goods and services to our citizens and employing people of all ages," Windhorst stated. He urged those who are able to shop locally and support small businesses throughout July.
