Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board of Education met June 24.

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:09 PM.

Also present were Supt./Principal Bob Bowser, Principal Lori Stevens and Admin. Asst. Sarah Courter.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Beth Etzkorn made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Minutes of the Special Meeting and Closed Meeting held Wednesday, May 21, 2025; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills Exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax $8,541.10 payable in July for March 2025; Expenditures for the month in the Education $152,895, Building $8,357, & Transportation $6,794 with the 3-Fund Total of $168,046; Facility Update - A/C is struggling; Elementary floors are completed by Jon Wolfe; Carpets will be professionally cleaned on Thursday; Yard looks great; Amy and the crew are ahead of schedule - they are doing a great job; Transportation - None; Other - None.

BUDGET HEARING ON AMENDED 2024-2025 (FY25) BUDGET

Eric Haines moved to temporarily suspend the Allendale Community School District #17 Board of Education meeting in order to conduct an Amended Budget Hearing on the 2024-2025 School District

Budget. Upon said motion being seconded by Melissa Wise, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

The President stated: We are at the present time, opening this meeting to hear testimony and questions concerning the Amended 2024-2025 Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Budget. No public questions or concerns were expressed.

Eric Haines moved to close the Amended 2024-2025 Budget Hearing at 6:27 PM. Upon said motion being seconded by Melissa Wise, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

The President declared the Amended Budget Hearing concluded and closed. The President declared the Board Meeting to be back in regular session.

ADOPTION OF AMENDED 2024-2025 BUDGET

Ryan Andrews moved to adopt the 2024-2025 Amended Budget as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

APPOINTMENT OF AUTHORIZED IMRF AGENT

Eric Haines moved to appoint the Superintendent as the authorized IMRF agent for the 2025-2026 school year. Upon said motion being seconded byRyan Andrews, the President put the question and the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

Beth Etzkorn moved to adjourn to Closed Session at 6:36 PM - Reason - List Number(s) #1 - Appointments, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees and #2 - Collective negotiating matters and deliberations concerning salary schedules. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, the President put the question, and the roll being called, the following members voted:

APPROVAL TO DISCARD OBSOLETE/EXCESS EQUIPMENT

Eric Haines moved to approve declaring the Osmo, Athletic Uniforms, Boys/Girls Locker room Lockers as obsolete/excess equipment. Upon said motion being seconded by Melissa Wise, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

APPROVE SCHOOL BOARD POLICY UPDATES

Eric Haines made the motion to adopt all of the updated policies presented at the board meeting. Upon said motion being seconded by Melissa Wise, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:
