Illinois House candidate Patrick Windhorst recently congratulated workers for exemplary service during a recent visit to the Shawnee Mass Transit District headquarters in Vienna.
“The workers here do a terrific job of providing low-cost and accessible public transportation for Union, Johnson, Alexander, Pulaski and Massac counties,” Windhorst posted on Facebook.
Windhorst, the GOP candidate for the 118th District, faces Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Elizabethtown) in November’s general election.

The visit is part of a barnstorming tour of sorts, according to a previous article in the SE Illinois News. Windhorst has pledged to involve more voters in the political process. He has not only been going door-to-door to meet constituents, but he has also made a point to attend several community events.
His campaign platform includes tax reform and fiscal accountability.
The 118th District includes parts or all of Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties.
