Analysis: Harrisburg pays $3.88 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Harrisburg Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79.5 percent of the $197,482 the Harrisburg Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.88 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harrisburg contributed $157,086 to the fund, which saw a $404 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $40,396, or 20.5 percent, in 2018.
