The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:08 PM.

Absent was Jon Michael Deisher. Also, present was Superintendent Bob Bowser, Administrative Asst. Sarah Courter, Dist. Treasurer Debbie Hipsher, Herb Meeker (Newspaper), Mack Jefferson, and Eli Linson.
APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA
Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, November 16, 2022; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

CITIZEN - Eli Linson and Mackinley Jefferson gave the Board a verbal apology for stealing the American flag from the school.

ADMINISTRATION –
Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax $8,316.87 payable in January for September 2022; Expenditures for the month: Education 125,703, Building 7,182, Transportation 7,331 with a 3-Fund Total of 140,216; Sports -None; Facility Update - None; Transportation - None; Other - Rend Lake Heating and Air along with Brian Miller’s crew will be here to install new unit ventilators over Christmas break, Jon Wolfe and his crew will be installing new flooring over Christmas break.
Assistant Principal Cindy Brogan shared with the board that the school has been partnering with community members and organizations to help with Christmas gifts for students in need. She has also mentioned that she is helping teachers with instructional coaching for elementary mainly, but also some in fifth and sixth grades. Cindy has also had instruction with first graders for ELA. She gave an update on fluency testing for first through third graders along with goals for January. December’s circles consisted of Christmas around the world and restorative practices.

ADOPTION OF 2022 PAY 2023 TAX LEVY
Beth Etzkorn made the motion to approve the 2022 Pay 2023 Tax Levy as presented and file the Certificate of Tax Levy with the County Clerks of Wabash and Lawrence Counties. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION
It is recommended to complete the evaluation tool and return to Miles Marcotte. Once received, the evaluation tools will be compiled and the results presented at the January board meeting.
