Village of Smithton Committee of a Whole met May 30.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Elbe, Mourey, and Reyling were in attendance. Trustee Rogers and Trustee Hopkins were absent.

MOBILE HOME RENTAL REQUEST – The Board discussed the request and determined that the mobile home cannot be a rental, it must be owner occupied based on our Ordinance.

CREATIVE CHILDREN’S LEARNING CENTER REQUEST – The Board discussed the request and determined that they will not grant the request.

LPR – Trustee Elbe stated that the cost is around $18,000 for the cameras. Everyone was in agreement to move forward with this.

218 SUNSET AREA DRAINAGE – It was agreed that we would send a letter to all affected property owners and let them know that it is their responsibility to work together with their neighbors to fix the drainage issues.

BALLFIELD LIGHTS – We need to get a scope of work for the project and get it out for bids.

FIELD 5 INFIELD – It has been determined that the grass from the infield needs to be removed. Discussion was had about several organizations who use the field contributing for the cost of the improvements.

VILLAGE HALL ROOF REPAIRS – This will be voted on at the next board meeting.

BRIA BUILDING AND PROPERTY FUTURE PLAN – We are still waiting for all the final paperwork for the property.

Trustee Becherer reported that there were 3 CDs that were due, and they will be rolled over for another 7 months.

Trustee Mourey made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All Trustees were in favor.

The motion was granted. The meeting adjourned at 7:14 pm.
