The price of local government in 2017: City of Eldorado

The City of Eldorado budget was $5.25 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $3,275 per household.

That's a decrease of two percent from 2016, when the city spent $5.36 million, or $3,342 per household.

Eldorado has 1,603 households and a population of 4,021.

Since 2001, the City of Eldorado budget has grown by seven percent, from $4.91 million. The city population has fallen 11.3 percent over the same period, from 4,534.

Salaries accounted for 25 percent of city spending in 2017. Eldorado property taxpayers paid $1.31 million for 27 full-time employees and 40 part-time employees.

In 2001, the city had 28 full-time employees and four part-time employees, and spent $1.28 million.
