Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Hamilton County?

There were two offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Hamilton County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows that man and woman were released in Hamilton County. The younger parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018. The other was a 37-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Paula S. Strantz. She was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2018 when she was 35 years old. She is now 37.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Hamilton County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
