Hamilton Memorial Hospital is organizing a free educational event titled “The ABC’s of Medicare” for community members. The session, which will feature guest speaker Keith Leitzen, is scheduled to take place in the hospital cafeteria on October 21 at 11 a.m.
The event aims to provide information about Medicare options, particularly as significant changes are expected in 2026. Organizers state that the session is intended for those new to Medicare as well as individuals looking to better understand their current plans. The hospital describes the environment as relaxed and without sales pressure.
According to Hamilton Memorial Hospital, topics covered will include annual enrollment options, explanations of Parts A, B, C, and D of Medicare, an overview of Medicare Advantage plans and their significance, basics of Medigap/Medicare insurance, and additional resources for navigating Medicare decisions.
“No specific Medicare plans will be presented. This event is strictly educational and designed to provide general information to help attendees make informed decisions,” according to the announcement.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the session. Lunch will be provided at no cost. Those interested are encouraged to reserve a spot by calling 618-643-5859 due to limited space.
